Love working with a camera? Want control room or studio experience? Our six shows provide plenty of production opportunities!

Acting

If you ache to be on camera, consider being on screen talent for our shows! Whether you want to act our comedy sketches, try out some improv, or talk pop culture, ESTV is the place for you!

Writing

Become a writer for one of our six shows! We have everything from comedy, sports, to entertainment. At least one is sure to fit your style.

Producing

Want more of an overseeing role? Become a show producer! Manage shows content, schedules, writers, talent, and crew! Not a show you're interested in? Make one!

Public Relations

Not interested in television creation? Not a problem! Not only do each of our individual shows offer marketing opportunities, but so does the ESTV station itself!

Performance

New magic trick? Learned a new song? Some of our shows have performance opportunities, so we are always interested in talent!

 

So Many Ways to Get Involved

Each semester there are various open positions throughout all of ESTV. For any of the opportunities above, contact us and we'll get you involved! Below there are also other opportunities. We have a management team that sometimes has open positions, as well as leadership roles on each show. Please check back here for available positions at the end of each semester or contact ESTV with any questions!

Show Producer Opportunities

Producer Responsibilities:

  • Organize producing and consulting services with respect to the development and production of all show programming operations
  • Manage show budget in coordination with Station Manager
  • Maintain and exceed production deadlines and delivery dates
  • Serve as leader and liaison for entire show staff and operations   
  • Maintain communication and updates on Show production with Management Team
  • Attend bi-weekly leadership meetings
  • Uphold organization standards and production guidelines

Management Opportunities

EXECUTIVE TEAM POSITIONS

General Station Manager

This position is responsible for the oversight and development of Elon Student Television. The Station Manager is the face of Elon Student Television, representing the organization on Media Board, to faculty, and around the communications school. This position is responsible for budgeting, developing the organization, and overseeing all members of the Management Team.

Production Director

This position is responsible for overseeing and managing the production and post-production of all Elon Student Television shows. The Production Director also acts as a liason between ESTV and the TLT engineering department. This position handles studio reservations, schedules engineers with the TLT video engineer and student team leader, assists shows in the scheduling of special productions, and serves as a resource to show producers and show crew members. The Production Director provides feedback, creative solutions, and training opportunities to ESTV shows and members.

The Production Director reports to the Station Manager and serves on the Executive Team. This position is responsible for managing the Programming Manager and Special Projects Manager.

Development Director

This position is responsible for coordinating the acquisition and development of new shows as well as reviewing and helping improve current station content. The Development Director reports to the Station Manager and serves on the Executive Team.

Marketing Director

This position is responsible for overseeing and managing the marketing of all Elon Student Television shows as well as promoting ESTV on an external platform. The Marketing Director reports to the Station Manager and serves on the Executive Team.

MANAGEMENT TEAM POSITIONS

 

Special Projects Manager

This position is responsible for creating promotional materials for Elon Student Television shows. The Special Projects Manager reports to the Production Manager and serves on the Executive Team. The Special Projects Manager also assist shows with special productions, like holiday episodes, red carpet events, or special show additions like ETalk's Bachelor/Bachelorette episode.

Programming Manager

This position manages the "Elon Channel" on Philo TV, as delegated by Elon University Teaching & Learning Technologies. They collect media from ESTV, Elon News Network, and Maroon Sports to air on the “Elon Channel," and schedules this aggregated content into the 24/7 programming schedule. The position is responsible for overseeing submission deadlines by Show Producers as outlined in Production Agreements. They are also responsible for archiving content and working with Special Projects Manager to collect special projects for air.

The Programming Manager reports to the Production Director and serves on the Management Team.
